Conquer the map, one land at a time

Map Lords is a conquest game you play right in your browser, with no download and no account. You lead a noble House settled in a single territory, with a castle, a village and a mine. Around you, up to four rival Houses do the same. A game lasts 5, 10 or 15 minutes: when time runs out, the House holding the most territories wins. If your castle falls before that, your House collapses.

A game in a few moves

Everything happens on the map. You tap one of your territories, pick a neighboring target, set how many soldiers to send, and the army marches. Before each assault, the game shows your army's strength, the defense waiting on arrival and an estimate of your chances. You earn gold every second from your lands and mines, and spend it on buildings: barracks train pikemen, the archery range trains archers, the stable trains knights. Every building can be upgraded up to level 3.

The three units counter each other like rock-paper-scissors: pikemen beat knights, knights beat archers, archers beat pikemen. Fielding the right army against the right garrison can swing your strength by 50% either way. The details are in the units and buildings guide.

Diplomacy, regions and barbarians

At the start everyone is at peace: you must declare war on a House before entering its lands, and you can send an envoy to sign peace. Free lands and barbarian camps can be attacked without any declaration. Razing a barbarian camp earns 120 gold. Controlling a whole region (Brittany, Occitania, Italy…) gives bonus income and strengthens the defense of all its territories. Our strategy guide explains how to make the most of it.

Two maps, three levels, solo or together

The France map has 96 departments grouped into 13 regions, for 10-minute games. The Europe map offers 129 territories, 12 kingdoms to unify and sea links, for 15-minute games. The AI comes in three levels: Easy, Normal and Hard. You can play alone against 1 to 4 Houses, or create an online room and invite up to four friends with a 5-character code. The game is also a Discord Activity: everyone in the voice channel joins the same game.
